Before summer is over or even early this fall, you must consider a road trip to White Mills, PA. What’s in White Mills you ask? There you can find the newly converted Dorflinger glassworks factory. The property was purchased by James and Betty Asselstine and they have converted it into a unique museum with Dorflinger artifacts and glassware. Lovingly filled with treasures, during a visit there you will be transported into another century, where craftsmen created glass that ranged from the simple to the sublime. 3. Sand bubbles [videorecording] : C. Dorflinger & Sons glass factory. Louis J. Dorflinger, son of the founder of Dorflinger Glass Works, wrote in his diary on Monday, September 25, 1916 that three gentlemen from the Paramount Picture Company came to White Mills, Pennsylvania to ‘take pictures’ of the glass house and shops and left the next day. Lost for 95 years, Milestone discovered the film and had this short, silent film restored in 2011.
