10 Ways To Take Advantage of Your Free Library Card & Enjoy Summer at the Abington Community Library

  1. Register the whole family for SummerQuest.

Read and participate in activities like hiking or cooking together to fill out your logs. Every age group has special prizes and raffle baskets.

  1. Create positive reading experiences.

When your children see you read, they will be more likely to read too. Let them pick out what interests them. Summer is the time to explore; don’t be limited by levels. Let their curiosity and interests guide them. If you have more reluctant readers, try checking out a pile of high interest books and leaving them in your house for them to pick up. Try discussing what you are reading together as a family, or reading a chapter from a novel together each night.

  1. Go green and borrow more books instead of purchasing them.

Find your new favorite book at our Book Tasting on Thursday, June 28 from 10AM-6PM. Drop in and fill out your menu with promising new reads.
