Ready to Read with 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
January 1, 2022Give your child a head start by joining the Library’s initiative to have every child read 1,000 books before they enter Kindergarten. It is free to join this program with your library card. We use Beanstack, an online program that allows you to track how many books you read with your child and share reviews and book recommendations with fellow parents and caregivers. Simply visit lclshome.beanstack.org to create a free account or sign in with your login information if you have signed up on Beanstack before.
When you create an account, you will be asked if you’d like to sign up family members too. This is where you can sign up your child. Once logged in, click on Challenges and you will see the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge. Click on the image and hit enroll. Children will earn badges as they hit certain milestones in their reading logs.
