Holiday Stories: Celebrating Kwanzaa

Join us on Facebook as we celebrate Kwanzaa with a reading of Seven Candles for Kwanzaa by Andrea Davis Pinkney and pictures by Brian Pinkney! A coordinating craft will be available for children to pick up and take home at the Lackawanna County Children’s Library.

“For more than 25 years, African-American families have celebrated Kwanzaa – a holiday, inspired by their ancestors, that celebrates the harvest season. With a rich, informative text and stunning four-color illustrations, this book will help young children to begin their own Kwanzaa celebration.”
