In honor of  Native American Heritage Month:

Many different people from many parts of the United States make up the group of people called Native Americans. The lore is rich and diverse; some tales are humorous, and others are serious. The stories recount the history of the Native American people, to tell where they came from, or to relate the exploits of a particular hero. These stories educate children about cultural morals and values. Themes of conservation and preservation of the environment are a constant reminder to the people that they belong to the earth and must be good stewards.
