Novel Thoughts: Royal Academy Rebels – Outlaws by Jen Calonita

The mixed-up fairytale fun continues in Book Two of the hilarious Royal Academy Rebels as Devin and her friends contend with their banishment from Royal Academy and come up with a plan to take the evil Headmistress Olivina.
Things are not looking great for Princess Devin Nile. In the past 24 hours, she and her four best friends have gotten kicked out of school, banished to the Hollow Woods, and declared outlaws. (that’s what you get for accusing the Headmistress of being in league with the villains!) But Devin is not going down without a fight! Step One? Find Red Riding Hood and her vigilante friends for backup. Step Two? Come up with a plan to expose the truth about Headmistress Olivina to all of Enchantasia… or risk their homeland falling under villainous rule!

Novel Thoughts!

Zoom Virtual Event Children’s Library: This summer we will be talking about two popular books, Hilo: the Boy who Crashed to Earth and Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library.

July 16, 23, 30 @10:30 AM: Hilo: The Boy who Crashed to Earth, written by Judd Winick, is a great graphic novel that brings together an affecting story about a young boy who doesn’t think he has anything to contribute to the world and a cracking, seat-of-your-pants adventure about rampaging robots from another dimension.

August  6, 13, 20 @10:30 AM: Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library, written by New York Times bestselling children’s author Chris Grabenstein, also features messages about teamwork, friendship, and leadership. It centers around Kyle Keeley, a game- and puzzle-loving 12-year-old who, though not much of a reader, wins a trip to the grand opening of his town’s new library — a library decked out with animatronics, holograms, and all manner of innovation, because it was funded by none other than eccentric game maker (and Kyle’s hero) Luigi Lemoncello.

Those who register will receive free copies of the books to keep. Stop by the library to pick up your copies. You will also receive an email of the program’s Zoom login. This will be in a secure Zoom Room.

For Tweens ages 9 and up.

Registration is required.

Space is limited to 10 students.

To RSVP, visit us or call (570) 348-3000, ext. 3015.
