Mr. Boom Boom introduces children to the world of music one song, one activity at a time. Mr. Boom Boom (Frank Coates) has taught music in various educational environments and has over a decade of experience in education. Meet Tug, the Tow Tractor from Bethlehem, Pa.

Meet Tug at the Children’s Library. Tug is a real-sized tow tractor that helped Bethlehem’s steelworkers do their best. Tug will stop in Scranton on his way to New York. Stop by and say “Hi”, hear his story, and have your picture taken with him. Tug will be parked in front of the Lackawanna County Children’s Library.

Danger Club: Crazy Crayons

What do you do with old, broken crayons? Take the paper off, break them up even more, and melt them into crazy molds to make new crayons! Is it  chemical reaction or physical?

PA One Book: Saturday by Oge Mora

In this heartfelt and universal story, a mother and daughter look forward to their special Saturday routine together every single week. But this Saturday, one thing after another goes wrong–ruining storytime, salon time, picnic time, and the puppet show they’d been looking forward to going to all week. Mom is nearing a meltdown…until her loving daughter reminds her that being together is the most important thing of all.

Join us  on Wednesday, May 4th at 6PM when we celebrate a special library day with stories, songs, and crafts. The first 15 families to register and come to the program will receive a free hardcover copy of the book.
