Nancy Kay Holmes Memorial Fund

Nancy Kay Holmes – career educator, community activist, avid library user and lifelong Green Ridge resident passed away in November of 2009. To honor her life, her family established “The Nancy Kay Holmes Memorial Fund” for the purpose of sustaining the Green Ridge Branch Library. Proceeds from the memorial fund are to be used for repairs and upkeep of the branch. In 2010, in recognition of the great generosity of the Holmes family, the Board of Trustees of the Scranton Public Library re-dedicated the Green Ridge Branch as the “Nancy Kay Holmes Branch.”

Sad news has been received of the death of Betsy Bartholomew, Nancy Kay’s daughter. The family has requested donations be made in her name to the Nancy Kay Holmes Memorial Fund. To make a  tax-deductible contribution, checks may be sent to the Scranton Public Library, 500 Vine Street, Scranton, PA 18509, with a notation of NKH Memorial Fund. Credit card donations may be made by calling Ann or Laura at 570-348-3013.
