Lexivore Podcast, Episode 6 – Native American Literature

The 6th episode of Lexivore, the last of this year (wow!), has Renee and Megha talking about inclusion and representation – yet again – and this time touching on some of the darker aspects of our history, with Native American Literature – one historical fiction: I am Regina by Sally M Kheen, and one by a Native author: Ceremony by Leslie Marmon Silko.  It seems a fitting time, since November is Native American Heritage Month.  We also include a teaser for our next episode, in January, which is going to be for Black History Month.

We hope you enjoy our podcast!  You can listen here!

Native Ways with the France Dorrance Archaeological Society @ the Lackawanna County Children’s Library

Join us as wdreamcatchere explore what life was like for those Americans who lived here before the European settlers. As we prepare for Thanksgiving, let’s celebrate the people who settled here first and taught our forefathers how to survive in a new land.

The Frances Dorrance Archaeological Society will be here will a collection of Native American artifacts to view. We will also read Native American folklore and possibly learn a dance or two!

Visit our display case in the lobby with Native American items on loan from Miss Janie.
